I loved it. Jane Harper does the best combo of mystery, character study and Australian nature. In this one, someone was murdered in the middle of the night and left on the beach. In a small town where everyone knew everyone else, it was a scary possibility that someone you knew closely could be committing a murder.

The small coastal town setting was wonderful (this time set in Tasmania, off Hobart), the characters were relatable, and the book atmosphere was unmistakably Australian (Surf and Turf

It was a slow start for this one - I think it took until about a third of the way through until I was interested in the characters and what was happening. After that, it was a good read, and toward the end I just had to keep reading to find out what had happened.

Another great book from Jane Harper. This is the second book of hers that I have read. I really thought she brought the seaside town in Tasmania to life. Another fantastic read by Jane Harper that once again uses the Australian environment to great effect. I was slightly annoyed by the ending, but apart from that I enjoyed the book immensely (keeping me up way too late reading lol). Definitely give it a read :) .

Re read this book for my book club. Enjoyed it all over again.

Kieran Elliot and his partner Mia, and their baby Audrey return home to Evelyn Bay a small seaside town in Tasmania to help his parents pack and move to Hobart. A young woman is found dead on the beach and it brings up old memories for many people in this small town. Kieran is still haunted by even
