I loved it. Jane Harper does the best combo of mystery, character study and Australian nature. In this one, someone was murdered in the middle of the night and left on the beach. In a small town where everyone knew everyone else, it was a scary possibility that someone you knew closely could be committing a murder.

It was a slow start for this one - I think it took until about a third of the way through until I was interested in the characters and what was happening. After that, it was a good read, and toward the end I just had to keep reading to find out what had happened.

Re read this book for my book club. Enjoyed it all over again.
I loved this book, so well written. Her descriptions are so evocative and her characters are really well developed and feel so authentic. A young woman is found dead on the beach and it brings up old memories for many people in this small town. Kieran is still haunted by even ...more
