The Lost Man is book #3 for Jane Harper, and I always look to the third book to determine what sort of staying power an author has. Of course, having been overwhelmingly impressed with Harper's first two novels, The Dry and Force of Nature, I never really had any doubts that this author was the real deal, one of the most remarkable voices to come along in the past few years. But, if anyone had any lingering thoughts of will it last, The Lost Man should solidly put those thoughts to rest. Jane Ha

An atmospheric Australian Outback setting, realistic characters, and intricately layered plot made this another excellent read from this author.

The other day as I was going to sleep I thought how much I'm enjoying this read and then I realised that I'm approximately halfway but nothing much has really happened! Ha! I guess the author's prose is more enjoyable than I thought.

An experienced stockman dies in the outback. He knew better, he knew never to be with out water, never leave the car, so how did it come to this? That is the question is brother Nathan faces as he comes to grips with the loss.
