Robot Ham, as he is known in our house, is known for his psychological thrillers. While some of his books have edged towards the gruesome end of things, this one stayed mainly within the confines of mindfuckery.
I liked that Robotham turned this inwards to his series protagonist Joe O'Laughlin's extended family and his past, giving it a more existential feel.

Michael Robotham never lets you down and this book is no exception. A plot that keeps you turning the pages when you're supposed to be asleep, ramping up the pace and tension, and a sympathetic and believable protagonist.

This book was a return to the high standards of the earlier books in the series. I really enjoyed the plot and the characters and hope there will be further works at some point. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Seán Barrett who did his usual stellar job.
