Superb prose, an intriguing yarn laced with philosophy and satire, but such a bleak journey. This is a novel I admire greatly but could not enjoy.
Listened to the audiobook. Brilliant writing as always, but a dark subject, more dark then when Richard Flanagan talks about the inspiration for the book, his ghostwriting of John Friedrich's autobiography, which I haven't read and don't intend to. length: 15 hours.
