Disappointing. I'm a huge Caroline Overington fan. I thoroughly enjoyed each of her previous fiction releases. This one was not up to the standard of her prior novels. None of the characters were remotely likeable and their depiction was superficial at best. The plot was predictable and again, superficial. There was no depth to this book at all. 2.5★ I'm not sure about this one - the story was interesting, but the characters were so unlikeable. At first, I wondered whether it was just the narrator's accent, but in the end, I decided that the female characters, Loren and Molly, were probably meant to sound rather Gen-Y-ish - entitled and self-absorbed. It got a little better after Loren's journal entries finished, or perhaps I just got a bit more drawn into the story. It's a shame, because I've listened to Jennifer Vuletic narrate books

Is a relationship ever perfect, does having money make your life pure bliss or is there dark secrets threatening to be revealed?
Overington has created a thriller that keeps you guessing as to who did what and who is responsible for doing what. I have not read any of Overington’s work before so came with no expectations. Disappointing. Had potential. Characters felt thin and shallow. Didn’t mind the ending.
