When I requested this book from NetGalley, nothing in the description made it clear this was the second in a series. Had I known, I would not have requested without having read the first book, but as it was, I went ahead. I still enjoyed it once I got into the story and characters; however, I think I would have gotten more out of it had I read Book One first, since I had to come to know these characters partway through their journey and had no idea how they had reached the point they were at by
