The Four Legendary Kingdoms is by far the most new reader friendly in the series (Seven Ancient Wonders, the first book in the Jack West Jr. series aside). The book follows on from the events of The Five Greatest Warriors many years after conclusion of that book and feels like it breathes new life into the series. The characters, new and old, are engaging and each adds the overall dynamic of the story.

There has been nine quiet years since the previous book!

Yet again, Matthew has created a landscape of deadly games, where against insurmountable odds, Capt. Jack West saves the day... but the cost is almost too high.

FANTASTIC. Thoroughly enjoyed this new instalment in the Jack West series. Glad I managed to avoid spoilers as I was pleasantly surprised :-D Mind you, I don’t actually know where MR fans hang out so not sure where I would have gotten hold of spoilers anyway.
