Sofia DeRosa was determined to clear her father’s name as well as prove her aunt had been murdered all those years ago after receiving an unexpected letter from her aunt – written thirty years ago but only just posted; anonymously. Travelling from Australia to Bologna in Italy left her tired and jetlagged, but her unexpected encounter at the airport with family members of the bitter feud, Riccardo and Giovanni Santini left her angry, disturbed and just a little flustered.

That he would do at all costs. Sofia didn’t trust the family (apart from Carolina) – how could she after the conspiracy to ruin her father thirty years prior had been orchestrated by the Santini’s…

But the attempts to remove Sofia continued – the violence escalated but so did her fear and anger. What was happening? Who was responsible for the attacks on her life? She found herself trusting Riccardo to keep her safe; but that was dangerous in more ways than one. He was getting under her defences – meanwhile Riccardo also struggled with emotions he hadn’t experienced before.

As the beauty of Emilia Romagna and the surrounding countryside lulled Sofia’s senses, she also missed her home in Australia – but her Papa, Giuseppe and brother Dante would soon arrive and then all hell would break loose. What was she to do?

Conspiracy in Emilia Romagna by Aussie author Erin Moira O’Hara is the first in the new Santina/DeRosa series and I loved it! Extremely fast paced, the action raced along - one of those “unputdownable” novels that meant I read until I’d finished - just after midnight! Gripping and intense, the plot weaves in and out with murder and mayhem blending well. Even though I suspected the perpetrator early on, the final pages were extremely satisfying. I have no hesitation in recommending Conspiracy in Emilia Romagna highly – it’s romantic suspense; heavy on the gritty suspense! The best! (Love the cover too!)
