“This can happen to anyone.”

Absorbing, entertaining, believable.

I raised little kids on Sydney’s northern beaches where this story takes place, but it was a couple of generations ago. The ocean, the scenery, the cross-section of people were all the same though.

I used to say that something I enjoyed about living there was the variety of people. Residents and shoppers ranged from surfers in thongs (flip-flops, not G-strings!) and board shorts (no shirts) to hippies in Asian gear to wealthy wome

I did not want to watch the mini-series before reading it, but it took a long time to get a copy from the library as it was so popular. I'm so glad I did not watch the series and I never will. Judging from the video clips of it, it is dreadful. It's all so wrong.
A very easy read and I got through it quickly (partly because it was reserved and I had to get it back to the library on time). At one point in the book I actually gasped out loud and not many books can do that. Loved
