“This can happen to anyone.”
Absorbing, entertaining, believable.
I raised little kids on Sydney’s northern beaches where this story takes place, but it was a couple of generations ago. The ocean, the scenery, the cross-section of people were all the same though.
I used to say that something I enjoyed about living there was the variety of people. Residents and shoppers ranged from surfers in thongs (flip-flops, not G-strings!) and board shorts (no shirts) to hippies in Asian gear to wealthy wome ...more

She then reels you in with the shocking events of one night, and the twist that I didn't see coming, fantastic!!

I read The Husband's Secret and thought it was fine, and was reluctant to pick this one up thinking it may not be worth the time. This was really enjoyable, though, and well written. She spent a lot of time crafting some fun Aussie characters and told the story in an entertaining way that kept me guessing.

Really enjoyable.
I did not want to watch the mini-series before reading it, but it took a long time to get a copy from the library as it was so popular. I'm so glad I did not watch the series and I never will. Judging from the video clips of it, it is dreadful. It's all so wrong.
A very easy read and I got through it quickly (partly because it was reserved and I had to get it back to the library on time). At one point in the book I actually gasped out loud and not many books can do that. Loved ...more
