This was an unsatisfactory read, I was hoping it would be better. Gaby Baillieux has been accused of releasing an angel worm into the computers of Australia’s prison system and hundreds of asylum seekers walk free, but an American corporation runs prison security so the malware infects 5000 American places of incarceration and doors spring open. This is the first Peter Carey book that I have read. I must admit that I found the plot rather confusing. Having said that though Carey's prose is rather amazing and I was certainly willing to persist with this book in order to finish it and see what happened in the end. ...more

Date I gave up on this book : 2015 August 19

I tried but it was too painful to finish.

Got sick of it 100 pages in and sent it back to the library. Was nothing like I expected it to be. Hated the characters and was bored by the narrative. Might get it back in the future and finish it but not for a while.
