I'm hooked on this series. Cat is a great protagonist, kicks some serious undead butt and has a snarky, fun sense of humor and major parental issues to make things interesting , curses like a longshoreman and drinks gin like it was water. Her vampire beau Bones is....well, Bones is MINE! Hands off. I also like her new FBI colleagues. A nice bunch of tough, likeable characters with great banter among them like a good ensemble TV show.

In all honesty, these books come so highly recomended that I was fairly disapointed. Our protaganist is a drunk, unpleasent Mary Sue who made illogical decisions to advance the plot at every turn. Bones resembles another bleach blonde vampire way, way too much.
However, the sex bumped it back up to three stars. I hadn't realized when I started reading that it was the infamous "chapter 32" book, but darned if I didn't enjoy it. So anyone who is bothered by the fact that this is a thinly veiled Bu ...more
