This series is much better than the alpha-omega series IMO.
There's more action and character development. It starts off slow, but as you keep reading book-after-book, it gets more interesting. The author's writing style is pretty laid back (in the sense that she doesn't give you all the details at once, but rather reveals it bit-by-bit each book). This was fun. Mercy is a complicated person...she'll go to church, bake cookies, repair a car's engine and then shoot some bad guys. Oh yeah, and she also happens to be able to turn into a coyote.
This is , as I often say about pure pleausure reads, the literary equivalent of eating potato chips or buttered popcorn. It's meant to be fun and it sure is hard to stop once you get started. Briggs is a talented writer. Her dialogue is snappy and occasionally hilarious.
