What Members Thought
Definitely a 4.25 star book. The beginning was slow, took me nearly a week to get through the first 100 pages and then blazed through the back 350 in 3 days. Exciting, interesting, sad, compelling. It definitley did not fall into the cliches of the recent young heroine-dystopian future novels. It's set in present time, it's straight up sci-fi, and the girl is only the narrator for about 2/3s of the book. The Host meets Enders game meets Outbreak meets the Holocaust in an action packed page turning dystopian with a hunger games like heroine. Doesn't answer as many questions as it raises unfortunately so it might be worth waiting for the whole trilogy to come out, as usual. A very heavy read with the vast majority of the earths human population dead or on t he brink of extinction but the main characters you grow to love redeem the story.
