Vlad has given Leila every materialistic thing she could desire to show her how much she means to him but his heart, which hasn't beaten in centuries, is the one thing he won't give her. Leila's about to find out that while she's ready to turn her back on the vampire world they're not ready to reciprocate and who she trusts will be a life or death decision.

This is the second installment in the "Night Prince" trilogy and I can't believe I waited so long to read this one. Vlad's the man ... or should I say vampire ... who sends chills down my spine as he is THE alpha predator of the vampire world. Cruel, callous, merciless, despicable, dangerous, hot, sexy, seductive, sensuous, drop dead gorgeous, and oh so wish he were mine. I totally lost myself in the pages of this book as Vlad and Leila battled over their feelings for each other while outside factors threw every monkey wrench into the mix to break them apart.

How can I even begin to say how brilliant the author was in providing a read that totally kicked ass. Action adventure, twists and turns, sexual tension, and snarky dialogue complemented by some juicy adult content erotic action had me glued to my e reader. I so didn't want this book to end. Of course it did and I now have to stalk the calender waiting for the next installment. Tick Tock author.

This was a terrific paranormal erotic romance read that I suggest anyone who has read and appreciated the "Night Huntress" series grab. You really should read the first installment "Once Burned" before this one as it does build off the characters and events and you will lose the flavor of things if you don't. And for my tease: reading this book may result in breaking out in a mysterious smile when using Fabreze and/or looking at a unit (bag) of blood thinking of the possibilities.

I really enjoyed this book. It started off with conflict between Laila and Vlad making them split up and then having to eat their pride to make up. It was fun reading them argue and make up. I mean the way Frost writes the love scenes it makes me wanna be with a vamp =)
I also liked that the story was more about Vlad and Laila's relationship. It was done so well that's all I wanted to read about. Not the villain.

I could seriously hurt myself, Why I wasn't in the mood when this came I will never know, but let me tell you I regret that decision, but never again will I do that to myself.

So what did I think of it, that I loved it more then the first one!! I mean Vlad was just as wicked as ever but Leila def grew on me in this book. She acted tougher than before and not sooo whiny at times. :D and she was I felt better developed as a character. I liked the story line and where it led. I saw the ending coming ...more

Frost is always fun and she definitely delivers the sizzle with this book.
I still find Leila a tad annoying every once in a while, but she's a great match for Vlad and he will always be my favorite of Frost's leading men.
There's action, romance, laughs, intrigue, and enough sappyness to make this a total page-turner. Loved it! ...more
