Man, I am worn out. This book wanted all my emotions. It wasn't easy on me. And for that I give it 5 stars, simply because I loved the struggle. I was sold by the end of chapter one. There was a sense of magical realism that made me double check the genre with my fingers crossed, wishing that it were listed as so because it would have been too, too cool.

Enjoyed it right up to the last chapter - then I got very disappointed with the bad piece about Muslim. It feels like it was added later on and wasn't in the same emotion as the rest of the book. It would have been perfect without that!!!! I saw comments saying he was in another book which I have not read but still didn't fit in for me.

Nope. Just didn't get this one. The entire story was all over the place. The plot, the characters, the writing. I've previously read Tarryn Fishers books but I was just not feeling this one. There was no real connection with any of the characters (for me and in the actual book). I was having a hard time figuring out why the MC was so "in love" the MC guy. It just felt forced. Again, I was sucked into a book with all the raving 5 star reviews. Just not seeing it on this one.
