my rating: I hate it and I want to return it
This book was a surprisingly bad book from this author. Why did you write the heroine like this, she had no depth except for the repeated vague unsettled feeling she had about her father. It was almost like the author was trying to hard to give her an issue to grapple with to the end of thickening the plot like someone would add too much cornstarch to thicken a gravy, bleck, was my response. Lorelei James is brilliant as always. This book is exactly what you would expect from her - hot, sexy, fun read full of hot cowboys.
I will say that is a little irritating that this series is more than double the cost of all of her other books. I understand that she has a different editor for the Blacktop Cowboys series, but it sucks.

Lorelei James doesn't disappoint. While at first I thought this book was just a re-written early Rough Rider's book, I soon found it stood on it's own, just similar. I absolutely love Hank! Maybe more than some of the McKay men ;-) Can't wait to get started on the next one.
