This story reminded me so much of a poem I used to teach to my freshman students, but I can't recall the name of it. I thought this would be about a child who loved traipsing around in the snow or one who lived in the snow. But I loved it when I read that a childless couple built a snowman only to discover it gone but with footprints left behind. Quite a mystery there.

Beautiful, haunting, and sad, but hopeful. A subtle, sweet, sorrowful journey through the snow and cold to find the warmth of love in all its forms. If you are looking for a book to devour, this is not it. If you want a lyrical, lovely, lonely story to savor and chew on a while, this will satisfy.
