Darling fairy tale! With an older couple, Mabel and Jack, who lost their own child 10 years earlier at birth, they build a "snow child" one night in a moment of laughter and love. I had a hard time deciding between a 3 and a 4 star rating. When I first started this book, I found that a lot of times I wasn't very interested in picking it up again. It's not that I hated it-I actually thought it was very good-but it was also quite a slow read with the fairy-tale elements being very subtle. In part two, the fantasy bits were almost non-existent, at least it seemed that way to me.
