I'm not really sure what to think. I didn't love it, but I'm not sure why.
Maybe it's because with the start of season 2 of GoT on TV everyone's been talking about it like crazy and therefore I was expecting something more.
The cast of characters and viewpoints is enormous, and I am no stranger to casts of thousands... I absolutely adore the WoT series. But WoT only has a few narrators, and GoT has a ton of narrators. I don't really like this structure. I found it diluted the impact of all the s ...more

I first heard about this book because of the television show. Im half way through now, but ive watched the entire season one. I havre to s show has remained entirely faithful to the book. I am captured, absolutley enthralled with these characters and the story it is so amazingly written and i cannot wait to read his other stories. This is an epic example of character and world building! If you everr read only 1 book....this should be the one. And to think it is a series is just thrilling.
Den här boken är verkligen en av de bästa medeltida fantasyböcker jag har läst. Författaren låter oss se alla goda sidor hos karaktärerna men utelämnar verkligen inte de dåliga. Många har kritiserat boken för att vara sexistisk och omoralisk. För det första så kan jag säga att min uppfattning av fantasy aldrig har varit att den ska innehålla några större moralpredikningar. I tried reading it and didn't get past the first chapter. More accurately, I fell asleep while trying to get through the first chapter. Thank heavens for the excerpt reading option on Kindle. Caveat: I might give it another go ... some day. If I do then I'll come back and give a much more thorough review but until then ... this book is in my not-so-good-read pile.
