Two stars is a stretch.

The Kill Order is not a lengthy book, but is a laborious read. As an addition to the Maze Runner series, it felt forced and gratuitous, a last dime squeezed from a successful idea. The dialog and descriptions are cheesy and fluctuate between childish and antiquated...basically, no adult talks like this. Especially no adult in a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Maybe Dashner, accustomed to writing from an adolescent's perspective, struggled to transition away from that mindset.

Amazing story of how the world changed. How it affected a select few the horrors they went through to live and have a life again which was snatched from them so suddenly and unknowingly by the PCF and PCC. This story get you attached to the characters and wanting a different ending.
