Dislike! I read it because an old crush recommend it to me and he praised it like it was a mind-blowing book, aaaand I hated the book after the first chapter, I tried to find something good in it that why I finished it, & when I was done reading I knew at that moment my crush was an illusion, & lost any respect I had for his intellectual capacity....
It's not often I write a review, but I feel obliged to in this case. This book is so lauded and appears on so many Top 100 book lists that I felt I should give it a go. What an utter waste of time - it's SO bad! The basic premiss is that if you follow your dreams the universe will conspire to help you (try telling that to someone living in a slum and surviving on a dollar a day). I liked the book but the steps of the story were kind of expected. It surely leaves the message of basing on yourself and keep fighting but also finding the right people to help you.
Picked this up at the airport in São Paulo on the way home to the states. I wished that I could have gotten into the book as so many of my friends recommended it. Sadly not even in its native Portuguese could this book draw me in.
