Overly hyped, and not near as impressive as I was hoping for. Dissing Lurlene McDaniel's books did not help, either. I loved her books about teens with cancer, and the OLW foundation that helped them.
I did love Hazel Grace, even though she was constantly down on herself. I didn't like Augustus as much, since he really let himself go, and then told HG not to get him help.

Wow... Eh, what should i say?? I have very mixed feelings about this... First of its type for me... On one hand, it failed to impress me, on the other it made me cry...

I have never understood people who avoid tear stimulus like books and movies. I would rather process a grief past or enduring, or a future possible pain through the well written stories of others. This book is no exception. I actually went looking for the book "An Imperial Affliction" after the main character stole my heart and admiration and talked it up so much. But alas, it was only a made up masterpiece. John Green has indeed lived up to that moniker with this book. ...more

1. Lived up to my expectations, it's just as good as everyone says.
2. The characters are great- Augustus is like the perfect guy!
3. I loved all the book references
4. This book made me feel better about myself, I guess it gave me hope in a way
