I HATE this book. Absolutely hate it. Not just from the bottom of my heart (which would literally mean my ventricles, and so, no) but with my whole heart. I hate it, hate it, hate it.

I hate the fact that it made me laugh, so hard!
I hate the fact that it made me smile, so much!
I hate the fact that it made me chuckle, so profusely!
I hate the fact that it gifted me with so much Laughter, Smiles and Chuckles when I was expecting to come face to face with tragedy at any moment....it changed my expec ...more

I bought this book a few months ago, but it took me a while to build up the courage to read it. Reading about cancer is a difficult thing for me to do, as cancer has touched my own life several times and the subject hits pretty close to home. But upon seeing nothing but glowing reviews for The Fault in Our Stars, I knew that I had to read it.
Both Hazel and Augustus are fantastic characters - perfectly suited to each other, their personalities are both smart and sarcastic, a combination that I lo ...more

"The Fault in Ours Stars"...there are no bad things to say about this book at all.
Unless you are a heartless, insensitive creature who was probably not held as a baby.
"TFIOS" is a poignantly written book by the ridiculously talented John Green. It's funny and smart and honest and raw and completely rave-worthy.
The characters in this book are endearing and fresh and just the better version of reality. You can't help but fall in love with Hazel and Augustus. Girls, I guarantee ...more

Whew. Talk 'bout emotional manipulation.
I moderately enjoyed this book, but didn't have the same reaction to it as most people. Hazel and Augustus were not believable characters to me. That lack of believability completely undermined the story's emotional impact. The precocious teenager with the weirdly large vocabulary who struggles beautifully and articulately with existential dilemmas is an overly-relied upon trope in YA fiction. Their characterization lacked all subtlety and verisimilitude, ...more

This book was amazing! It made me laugh and cry. The humor used in this book is something not everyone can capture. The story itself was not an enjoyable subject, but the way Green portrayed the characters and storyline was unbelievable. This has become one of my favorite books. Five stars, no doubt.

I really wanted to like this book more than I actually did. For some reason it didn't get me as emotional as most cancer related book makes me. May be because it was a young adult book, but then again it should have affected me more since the young girls and boy were dealing with Terminal Disease.
