This took me an embarrassingly long time to read (even if you only count from when I restarted it) and I’m not sure why. The writing can be dense at times and while I think that works well for the story and atmosphere, it made it hard for me to pick up sometimes (this is more of a personal to me thing, rather than a critique of the writing itself).
I love Susanna Clarke and I liked this a lot, but it’s hard for me to say more because I read it in such an odd way.
