What an odd book!! I'm wavering between 3 or 4 stars...something about this book just wasn't enough though.
I wanted more creepiness, more chills...it did remind me, a bit, of Sarah Waters' 'The Little Stranger', but nowhere near as spooky (or as good).
But to bag this novel doesn't feel right. The characters grew on me till I was really loving them, and I giggled aloud in places. I just wanted more spookiness!!
Its a bit of 'The Others' meets 'Downton Abbey'. Good, enjoyable, but something lacking ...more
