We picked this book for our book club theme of Pulitzer Prize Winning Books, and I wasn't sure about it. The other ladies in my club did not care for it, however, after finishing it and letting it "digest" a little bit, I found that I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the writing style, as it made the ending more exciting for me. While I will admit that it was a little hard to get started, it is a beautifully written book, that requires time to read it. I finally finished All the Light We Cannot See today and there’s so much to be said about this book.


There’s a sense of gentleness to the writing, as if Anthony Doerr is carefully putting together pieces of broken glass and trying to build a house that’s meant for looking, rather than touching.
