Call me old fashioned, but I prefer my plots to proceed with a bit of chronological consistency. I dig it when a prologue gives a glimpse of what is to come, or the odd chapter includes a flashback or two, but to me this book was so choppy in this regard that it made it un-enjoyable. We flit from the end of the story to the beginning to somewhere in between, all from multiple POVs and I found it really distracted from what could have been a very good story. a WWII story from the prospectives of both the French and the Germans. I found the time jumps a little confusing but the story was beautifully told. The use of color imagery really makes the story coe aiive. The blind heroine is so resilient that you can't help but feel for her and hope that all turns out well for her.
