I only gave this book four stars because I found it unbearably sad at times and will never pick it up again. It really deserves five, but I'm too wrapped up in being bummed out to say I loved it.

Simply wonderful...
Took me a while to get through this one. Listened to disks over and over, just to properly take it in.

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer my plots to proceed with a bit of chronological consistency. I dig it when a prologue gives a glimpse of what is to come, or the odd chapter includes a flashback or two, but to me this book was so choppy in this regard that it made it un-enjoyable. We flit from the end of the story to the beginning to somewhere in between, all from multiple POVs and I found it really distracted from what could have been a very good story. I never give a book 5 stars lightly. Truly one of the best I've ever read and, given the time, I'd read it all over again. To make a drastic understatement: It is beautifully written.

Left off on chapter 17. All the back and forth between characters, two pages here, two pages there, was just too much and I couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again another day.
