It's unusual for a person to write a review about a book he has not finished. Well I am doing that because there is something I really wanted to share about my encounter with this book.

White Tiger worked well as one man’s tale told from the viewpoint of a series of letters. The novel evoked well the feeling of a modern day India and its morally ambiguous main character was fun to follow as he tried to improve his lot. The only thing that concerned me was the book never really challenged me. It was a very good read and enjoyable throughout. I enjoyed this but it was not all that I hoped it would be. The format, a series of letters to the Chinese Premier, seemed to much of a clever 'let's win a Man Booker prize' kind of stunt. But it did provide an interesting view into Indian ways. I deal with Indians most of my working days and so that peaked my interest more.
