Another book to fall in love with. This guy is a great writer. This is a life story of a dog. A Yellow Lab named Marley. (Named after Bob Marley). Marley is a crazy, unruly, unstable dog. But most of the time, the love for him outweighs the frustration. I found myself laughing out loud and crying almost at the same time. The great thing about this book is, anyone can enjoy it. I have to say I am biased. I have a black Labrador Retreiver named Twit, a fitting name. She is eleven and is definitely slowing down and showing her age as Marley did but what a puppy she was! Reading about Marley and his antics brought back so many memories and I had to laugh, even at the bad ones. Luckily, my dog was not as destructive as Marley but she had her moments. I loved Marley and Me, both the book and the film! It's such a funny and heartwarming (and in the end, sad) tale of Marley from puppyhood to old age, and how his mischief and antics both got him in trouble and amused his family at the same time. And also how his loyalty and huge heart touched the lives of the Grogan family for the thirteen years that he was a part of their lives. Marley was truly a dog like no other, and I'm glad I was able to know his story. ...more

I loved this book, I laughed, I cried, and I want another lab. Wait a minute I already have one, and she's a handful as it is. Dogs are so wonderful and John Grogan tells the story perfectly. A must read if you have dogs, and if you don't.... you might just get one! ...more
