Well this moved me one step closer to my commitment to read all (major) Jane Austen novels, but I can't say I much enjoyed the journey. As with some of her other books, this just got too bogged down in (meaningless, tedious) detail for me in the middle of the book. While I think Austen had a real knack for creating characters that elicited a response from the reader, the details in this book caused me to do quite a bit of skimming. ...more
