Charming journal of 17 year old Cassandra who is coming of age. She is witty, introspective and insightful. Was a darling timeless story that didn't read like the typical classics I have met. I really thought it was lovely.

"Reading from the Best Books" group was reading this in the month of May so I read it. I didn't know what to expect but it was really fun to read. It was different than most things I read, and I'm trying to branch out a bit in my reading. I'm glad I read it.

This was OK. I didn't love it. It was light-hearted, but somehow didn't want to make me re-read it. The description of their poverty was terrible. They needed a food shelf!

The writing style was just a bit too old-fashioned to hold my interest. I'm used to a faster paced story, and I just couldn't wait any longer for something, anything to happen.
