The French Revolution as told by the descriptive storytelling of Charles Dickens. Biased and moralistic, but a meaty tale well told.
This novel is about resurrection. It is crepuscular, portentous, a vision of apocalyptic catastrophe, an orgy of blood drinking of pure mass rage at the penury, the cold, the dirt, the sickness of slavery. The last act of the drowning class who for generations were treated worse than dogs and in the depths of one hundred and five north tower where they had been buried alive, in the very depths of hell they dreamt a dream and the sharp female newly-born, and called La Guillotine was born.
