What Members Thought

This novel is about resurrection. It is crepuscular, portentous, a vision of apocalyptic catastrophe, an orgy of blood drinking of pure mass rage at the penury, the cold, the dirt, the sickness of slavery. The last act of the drowning class who for generations were treated worse than dogs and in the depths of one hundred and five north tower where they had been buried alive, in the very depths of hell they dreamt a dream and the sharp female newly-born, and called La Guillotine was born.

The story told is important but not always entertaining; however, it was more engaging starting halfway through.

This was really hard to get in to, but it is well worth the early struggle because it is such an amazing story. I understand the French Revolution after reading this. It is truly great literature.
