Imagine a world surrounded by Television all around us, where The Jershey Shore is on everyone's TV’s! This may seem like the present day, but this was written in 1950 and tells about a stunningly realistic and horrible future that we may be currently living in. The book follows Guy Montag who is a fireman, only in this universe, firemen actually ignite books instead of dismissing the flames! The government has always had great power over its citizens everywhere around the world. This is proven in an inhuman way in the intriguing book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The government along with the main character, Guy Montag--a firemen, have a big goal in common. The goal of limiting the knowledge to mankind. As Albert Einstein once expressed "knowledge is power," the government in this novel was very well aware of this so they made reading and even being in possession of books illegal. ...more

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbery takes you to a world without books. This is a world where books burn at 451 degrees, where firemen start fires insted of putting them out. Your home is fire proof, no need for firemen in this world, TVs the size of your walland the way to go to bed is by taking a sleeping pill.
