I remember this being fun to read up about until I started having really weird nightmares (technically, the novel is supposed to mimic the language of nightmares and dreams in general). Also, I remember just feeling awkward about language in idle conversation. Someone would start talking to me, about anything, and I had a hard time suppressing my laughter. This was going to be a regular review. It’s just a book after all, and I should be able to critically look at it and judge it for its merits.

2013 was the year our little group finished our 3 year project of reading Finnegans Wake. The hope was that we would teach ourselves how to read it, and while we never really did that--we'd think we were making progress and end up daunted again by the next section, it was a fun experience and there are definitely many sections that reward reading and I will go back to. It's a book I'm sure I'll keep thinking about. ...more
