Reading this book almost gave me the ulcers. The book is dense with information, and it reads like a textbook (it IS used as a textbook at Stanford U) drawing from Primatology to Neuroendocrinology. Needless to say readers need to know about biological structures, evolution, and even a bit about hormone pathways..things probably already learned in senior high school Biology class or freshman-level Biology course at a University.

Another banger from sapolsky! Some redundancies from behave. Many things carry over to chronic pain, there is definitely a significant crossover here. The chapter on pain was a little slim.
