Intoxicating fairy tale. The author has a wonderful sense of metaphor, and the setting is quite lush. It also gets bonus points for treating same-sex relationships as totally normal.

I feel like there wasn't enough in this book - that it could have easily been twice the size and twice the detail. I liked the settings and the characters, but feel that more could have happened to them. The end felt rushed. But I enjoyed it, and had a hard time putting it down at the end of the day. Plus, I like supporting local authors! ...more
