Fantastic! I loved the thorough world-building most of all. Sky and it's people felt so rich and complete, I can't wait to dive into the next books for more of them.

I usually prefer a lighter tone, and at first Yeine's total seriousness dragged me down, but once I settled into the overall setting and accepted that no one could be trusted, I was able to flow along with it and enjoy the story.

Beautiful writing and so refreshing to read something so woman-centric.

I thought I was going to love this in reading the first chapter. Instead I just really liked it. Some interesting world-building paired with some wooden writing and plotting kept this from being perfect. Still, I enjoyed this and the visions in my head of the world will be with me for a while.
