What Members Thought
This book was recommended to me as a "book for book lovers," which led me to expect that I would breeze through it. Not so. I am not a frequent poetry reader, and thus had to slow down to work through each poem, of which there are many. It is a testament to Byatt that she can write both prose and poetry (and letters) so adeptly and with several voices, but it did make my progress more halting.
