What Members Thought
Thought this book was a little tired until the very end blew me away with its depth and insight. In retrospect even when I thought the story was going to cliched places, it was still a fun adventure.
Should've listened to Sarah. Once Ava climbed into a boat to sail with a birdman to the underworld, I lost all interest.

I agree with others who have said that something about this novel doesn't work, despite the beautiful writing. I found myself skimming most of Kiwi's chapters. Ava and her journey through the swamp were more compelling.. but heart-breaking. I'll try Russell's short stories.
