It's a memoir, not a biography. The author, Alison give us some insight on how her relationship with her mother has affected her throughout her life. We read this book and we either identify with it or find it odd. If anything at all, the graphic novel has great illustrations. For me, the graphic memoir helped me to unravel some of my issues with my family; there's a striking similarity.
