I read both of these graphic novels and I think I prefer this one over the latter. There was less text to read and there seemed to be more of a narrative flow with the graphics. The story was also less Eat, Pray, Love-ish then the follow up. It was really a story of a girl trying to figure out who she was within her family and in larger society as well. Would recommend for upper-middle school.

This was my first graphic novel (trying to explore some new territory when it comes to genres), and I loved it.

The perspective and humor are priceless, and I felt like I learned a lot.

Can't wait to read #2!
