Just here to say that I thought Gatsby was merely "okay" when I read and discussed this in 8th or 9th grade (?) for school. I picked it up again to give it another chance as an adult, because so many people still claim it as "one of the greats". Tried it on audiobook and guess what, I found it as "MEH" as ever! Listening to the narration did not move me anymore than reading the text.

I listened to this book on tape, and the narrator was excellent. Just as I imagine the main character would've sounded like. Although first published in 1925, this books main message still rings true today. A timeless novel.

9th grade is too young to get this. Read it again, it's fantastic.
