I decided to read “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” after reading its appearance in “The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend.” Those descriptions promised a story with strong women, and Fried Green Tomatoes did not disappoint.
Idgie, Ninny, and Evelyn and more were each so wonderful. Their voices were unique, and their trials and triumphs palpable.

I think I remember reading this when it first came out and really enjoying it. I'll need to put this on my re-read shelf.

Sweet, pleasant read, but the storytelling is overly choppy and the writing is already dated. It's time to rewatch the movie and see how it holds up after 20 years!
