Probably closer to 3.5 stars. Interesting, funny, readable, but not amazing or life-changing. Failed to make me think.
When learning that a plane ticket to Savannah is cheaper than a fine meal in NYC, the author finds himself discovering the beauty, eccentricities and charm of the southern city.
This book is a wonder of narrative non-fiction. The reader is slowly introduced to many of the players in the city - a piano-playing real estate shark, a drag queen, a Gatsby-esque murderer and more. Take your time and savor this book.

Overall I enjoyed this, but I started to lose interest somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3 of the way in. I think it was the fact that the book slowly turned into being less about meeting the random quirky people of Savannah and more into a book about a crime that was tried four times before the defendant was eventually acquitted. I think this could have been a great crime novel, but I never felt like we got into quite enough of the nitty-gritty of the disputed evidence, theories of what happened that
