Everyone has that one person who seems to be with you through thick and thin. Dex and Em are that for each other. The interesting thing about this book is that we only get to see Dex and Em's relationship change, grow, and sometimes break only one day a year (July 15th). This definitely added something special and unique to the book. Even though we only get to see that one day in July each year, we're still able to get a really intimate picture of Dex and Em.

Story spanning two decades as it follows two friends from college graduation into adulthood, catching up with them on the same day -- July 15th -- each year. Just when I would start to get annoyed at the characters or the plot for veering too close to triteness or throwing in too many barriers to keep the two main characters from being together, there would be some development or line that would save everything and keep me reading and interested. The characters had great "voices" and were flawed

Loved this book! It's a story of friendship and love told in a unique way. The author focuses on the lives of two people on the same day every year. The significance of this date is later revealed during the climax. Really quick read because it was hard to put it down.

This was pretty good. It's a very fast read and easy to see why they would want to turn it into a movie. This is the story of Emma and Dexter, who meet at the end of college. Dex starts out as a jerk and slowly turns into an extremely unlikeable character, to the point where I couldn't understand why Emma still put up with him. I also wasn't a fan of the ending, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't say why.
