aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

WHAT DID I JUST READ?

I managed to avoid book and movie spoilers for over a year, so I'm really proud of that. This book is insane. I thought Dark Places was a mind-fuck, but BOY WAS I WRONG.

What I'm saying is, there was nothing about the actual writing that was particularly compelling, so I don't think anything would be lost in seeing this thrilling tale instead of reading it. A book which will keep you guessing throughout. Even the most seasoned CSI and Law and Order fan will not see the twists coming. Flynn does an excellent job with character development and allowing you to be drawn into each character until you become repulsed by them. The plot keeps you turning the pages long after you should have been asleep and the end forces your jaw to hit the floor so hard that it breaks.

Started fairly promising. Bogged down in middle. Ending not as compelling.

The dysfunction and manipulation in their marriage is so poisonous, it makes you wonder how both can keep playing the games they do... ...more
