Finally got around to reading this one after hearing such great things about it. Definitely was not disappointed. Couldn't put this book down. Finished it in one day. It is a really well written young adult book that is enjoyable just as much for adults. The main female character is a total kick butt female. Loved her and the beginnings of her rebellion in a dystopian society. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. Highly recommend this book to anyone.

This was a very fun (as fun as child-on-child violence can be) and very entertaining (as entertaining as child-on-child violence can be) read. I felt engaged throughout, it flew by very quickly, and I was left vaguely interested in the happenings afterwards. Probably not interested enough to pick up the next book, but I'll never say never.

Hunger Games was well-written and engaging. I really liked the two main characters from District 12 and was absorbed in the plot and the action. It was fast paced and swift moving. However, I have a personal aversion to George Orwell's work and anything that smacks of being Orwellian. Unfortunately, this is fairly Orwellian and that just absolutely rubs me the wrong way. I will certainly read the other two books in the trilogy but I doubt any of them will get more than three stars from me just b
