I'm glad I read this without watching the movie first, and with little to no familiarity with Virginia Woolf's work, because there were no spoilers for me. While it's definitely not a happy read (it's one of those books that gives me that claustrophobic, crushed by the mundanity of life, feeling), I enjoyed the writing.
